When the Lorts Furniture Company began in 1966 the goal was to product moderately priced furniture. Furniture was distributed to retail furniture stores such as Levitz and J.C. Penney. Then the style fashioned in Early American and was fairly large-scaled. As the company evolved over the next 20 years, Lorts began producing a more stylized collection of furniture – setting them apart. Now Lorts is sold in some of the finest high end furniture stores in America.

Lorts has continued to differentiate from its competitors by offering a wide variety of finish options. They responded to customers demands for designer furniture with style at reasonable prices and now offer several premium finishes at prices far below the competition. They have even gone so far as to offer painted finishes matching any Sherwin Williams paint colors. From a design standpoint, this offered total flexibility.

In addition, Lorts offers several distressing techniques from a standard lacquer, Satin Wax or High Gloss Wax resulting in a look only seen on furniture hundreds of years old. For a no wax look you would probably choose the standard lacquer which is two coats of lacquer only. The High Gloss and Satin Wax options are both a French paste wax buffed into the finish resulting in a rich luster. The Satin Wax has a lower sheen while the High Gloss Wax has a glossy appearance.

You can select from 34 different finishes and your distressing technique to create your own look. And not to forget the option of a painted piece customized with any Sherwin Williams color. You can also combine stain finishes and paint finishes getting exactly the look you want. For the finishing touches, Lorts offers a variety of different fabric, metal, nail head trim and leather options.
